Stir fried Long Beans & Pumpkin Shoots

Pumpkin Shoot

I have been enjoying pumpkin shoots and unfortunately not the pumpkins.  I have had 5 plants but not one single pumpkin!  Well, let’s not waste all this yummy organic leaves.  So, I stir fried the young pumpkin shoots with garlic and oyster sauce.  It was absolutely delicious!

Long Beans

I was able to enjoy the Long Beans for about 1.5 months.  Usually stir fried with garlic, onions and oyster sauce, in fried rice and Curry Laksa.  Home grown Long beans are sweeter, more cruncy and of course, readily available anytime!

New Blog Home

I am so happy to move to my new blog!

Thank you for visiting and I shall continue my Gardening Adventure here.

I have just recently returned from a 10 days trip to Southern Thailand.  The whole family were packed into the MPV and headed for  a 7 hours drive to Hatyai, Thailand.  If you are interested to read my previous travel adventure there, you can read my Thailand Travel on Road Part 1 and  Part 2.  That was 2010.

Throughout my trip, I was thinking about my Gardening Blog and how I wanted to show you the gardens, plants, flowers and everything green during my trip.

So, eventhough I have not updated my blog for a month, I was thinking about all of you.

Come back to visit because I will post up the photos soon.

Update: Long Beans

21 July 2011
The Long Beans sprouted and I blogged it in this post here.
21 September 2011
The below photos were taken…. after 2 months, the Long Beans plant has started flowering and producing.
How nice.

3 plants of Long Beans growing well on the metal trellis

Getting bushier everyday…… The young shoots are nice to be stir-fried or in Maggie Mee noodles

3 inches short of 2 feet!

The Long Beans had landed in my fried rice and a vegetable lasagna.

Visit to Passion Fruit Farm

We were at a day trip to Tanjung Sepat.  While visiting along the beach, there was a Passion Fruit Farm.  Sad it was not open due to it being a public holiday but we managed to get some photos.

Rows and rows of Passion Fruit plant

Passion Fruits hanging beautifully like lanterns

I want mine to growing like this… one fine day….

Finished Compost!

A few weeks ago, I checked my old kitchen wire Compost Bin to see if I have any finished compost at the bottom.

I scooped up the top part and transferred it to the other kitchen wire Compost Bin.  The bottom half was soft finished compost, except for a few hard pieces of scrap.
